Project Description
Princess Grace Hospital
Monaco
Development, implementation and management
Designing and building a hospital is always a remarkable accomplishment and a challenge, but Monaco’s steep landscape, its vulnerability to earthquakes, and its exposure to the elements make the task even more difficult. These obstacles have been overcome and sublimated into a refined and subtle architecture, steeped in natural light and warmth.
The building gives structure to the landscape, with its modest yet openly elegant design. It places the Princess Grace Hospital at the very forefront of medical care, combines efficiency with humanity, and ensures that a culture of service permeates the entire organization.
The finished hospital
- OB (obstetric surgery), MBU (Mother and Baby Unit) and Emergency Department
- 20 operating suites (grouped together on a single floor)
- 394 beds and places
- Restaurant, pharmacy, offices, kitchens and laundry room
- Public parking lot with 650 spaces
Because the project was conducted on an occupied, active site, smooth and efficient project management was a must. The measures taken to optimize flows, coupled with our expertise in health architecture have placed the future Princess Grace Hospital at the very forefront of medical care, combining efficiency with humanity, and ensuring that a culture of service permeates the entire organization.
